Awesome5
I didn't have much experience with Vixen (except for some opera glasses) before and was a little hesitant to spend so much money on kind of an unknown brand. I heard they were good quality. Now I know. The initial set-up was a little confusing since I've never used this kind of telescope mount before. After a few false starts I got the alignment down and was observing in about 10 minutes.
The mount connects to the tripod with a single bolt and sits firmly. It took 5 seconds to attach my scope to the mount. The motion is smooth and quiet. The part I liked the best is the hand controller with a built in star chart. With my older mount I had to go back and forth between a star chart and the hand controller. With this unit all I do is press a button and while the telescope is slewing the star chart changes and shows where the scope is pointing. Very cool! My favorite feature on the computer is a list of favorite objects visible. Basically, it lists about 20 bright objects that are always crowd pleasers.
