"Miles Away" Remix Reviews3
The remixes of 'Miles Away' are all very club-orientated. My only hang-up over this single release is that when stacked against one another, the remixes sound so similar that it's really difficult for one to stand out as great or superior to the others. The Thin White Duke remix stands out because it took the most liberties with the chorus, removing most of the response parts to leave the listener with Madonna's claims such as "You always love me more ... I hear it in your voice ..." This remix was rather trance/dreamy like and, for me, really remixed the song without removing all the spirit of the original. The Morgan Page remix is very similar to the original with a few tweaks to make it more upbeat and club-ready. The Johnny Vicious remixes maintain the guitar strumming while upping the beats to, again, make the song more fitting for a dance floor. The line 'So far away ...' is highlighted to make the mix rather exciting.

The mixes that didn't do as much for me were the Rebirth and Aaron LaCarte mixes. The Rebirth mix simply sounds too similar to the original and the Morgan Page remix to stand out on its own. The Aaron LaCarte mix is, in my opinion, the weakest of the bunch. It's by far the most experimental and just doesn't work with its attempt to make the song more old school hip-hop with 'hey! hey!' droning annoyingly in the background along with a drum beat. The mix sounds cluttered and far too long with not much movement, completely taking the essence of the song away and leaving something rather boring and messy in its place.

In all, this remix single release was just okay. Not enough chances were taken with the song or the vocals in the mixes, and with all the tracks sounding as if they were mixed in hopes of landing them in the clubs, we get little variety or originality in the end product and a single with seven very similar sounding tracks. Great original song (the radio edit is included in this release) with good mixes, but nothing too great.

Great Song and Excellent Mixes!5
Once again, she dosen't disapoint with remixes. One of the best songs from Hardy Candy. BUY NOW!

just an FYI, this is the USA edition of the maxi-single, not a Euro import as stated in the product details. The remixes themselves are great.
