Average customer review:Product Description
Filmed in 1954.Narrated and featuring Robert Ruark.Harry Selby and Andrew Holberg guide Ruark to a 110 pound elephant.Black rhino, leopard, and a huge 49 inch buffalo are taken as well as other species. This film was shot in black and white and is excellent for it's day but is not the same quality as modern high definition cameras.Still it is a rare chance to see what a safari in British East Africa was like during this era.

Good Classic
About what I expected, old black & white (some times home movie) quality. I have read several books by Ruark and having an interest in this subject, wanted to see a movie from this era. You need to listen carefully to the dialogue and it would help to have read a Ruark book or two - especially "Something of Value" as this safari - movie was made during the Mau Mau uprising. Has some neat scenes in it.
