Another Soldier Down.......
**UPDATE** 3/25/09
I received The Riches Season 2 yesterday and I marathoned all 7 episodes. The packaging has changed to a regular dvd case with 2 double sided discs?!?! The first season set included 4 episodes to a disc so I'm not sure what the double sided nonsense is about. Prepare to be angry/gutted/disappointed when the seven episodes are over, I know I was! Long live The Ri¢hes!!
Great actors, great scripts, great tv....makes sense it got cancelled! Personally I am quite angry this was canned, The Riches was fast becoming one of the best shows on tv. I was excited to see where the story with Eamon Quinn was going as Wayne (or Doug) had yet to have any real challenge intellectually (Dale wasn't to hard to control was he). I will personally give Eddie Izzard money to make a movie!
We need a conclusion.
Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!!!
Still one of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Hopefully some other network will pick it up and continue to produce it!
Great start for the 2008 Season
First, thank you to the folks at FX.
Not only do you continue to deliver top notch programming for grown-ups, but you also make the seasons to work counterpoint to the other networks, allowing us to watch something other than reruns for more of the year.
As season two begins, the moral dilemmas multiply and the plotlines are even more intriguing. Wayne, Dahlia and the two younger kids decide that they like being upper-class and decide to try and keep what they have despite the mounting risks.
In another thread, the Travelers also begin to play into the plotline again. Oldest Malloy son Cael decides for good that the house at Eden Falls is stealing his soul, and opts to run away back to the Travelers, who have a new college educated (from prison via (University of Phoenix) spurting his mail order philosophies in order to take control of the clan).
The new season is finding more moral and legal dilemma's for Wayne/Doug having to lie to his family and more issues with his less than bright adversary Dale. On the side of that, Dahlia decides she doesn't want to be liar any more finds herself lying to the people she loves most.
This show continues to be very good mature audience only entertainment, but not for those who are easily offended, but really you should watch this show from the pilot forward to enjoy it thoroughly.
