The style is not jazz--nor is it classical--but instead stands sweetly in a league of its own--gently reminiscent of a more innocence time in motion picture history. Liata brings together their own unique blend of rich vocals and lush arrangements--fondly recapturing, with sentiment and beauty, this nostalgic era in music.

About the Artist
The group, Liata, consists of Rosanna DAgnillo on lead vocals with the vocal harmonies by Lynne Cerro. All instrumentations were arranged and performed by DAgnillo and Cerro with MarlaJoy Rubin Weisshaar featured on violin and Jerry Long on clarinet.

Words cannot convey the beauty and grace that Rosanna D'Agnillo's vocals bring to every track on this album. I found this new CD, Intermezzo, by the talented trio, to be both very pleasant and yet also provoking to listen to. The 16 tracks from the romantic era are sung in their original languages but are uniquely stamped by Liata's own arrangements and finesse. The musicians who contributed to this album are worth noting, especially Lynne Cerro, who created orchestral arrangements, back up vocals and the piano. An Amazing Tribute to the Golden Era of Film
I found Liata's Intermezzo while listening to last.fm and was instantly curious to hear more. So I took a chance and purchased Intermezzo. I was hooked after the first listen. I loved their versions of the great show tunes from the 1930s and 1940s and I felt immediately transported back to those days. I am a huge fan of old movies and really loved Liata's take on this kind of music. It's nice to hear it revisited with such passion.

Rosanna D'Agnillo's lovely and powerful vocals soar up and literally sweep the listener off their feet. MarlaJoy on violin is the perfect counterpart and all of the arrangements on the CD are beautifully done.

On Intermezzo, Liata approaches the music in a pre-jazz style that is charming and indicative of this great era in music and, as always, done with their unique touch of class and sophistication.

Liata has done it again !
Liata has done it again ! Intermezzo is an absolutely wonderful collection that never gets old. This incredibly stylish blend of Lyrics and instumentation often makes me feel like I am listeneing to a Broadway musical. I felt Rosanna singing right to me in " How deep is the ocean ?" and " Wish you were here ". Her vocals can be sultry or soaring with that voice of an angel. She is truely mesmerizing. Lynne's amazing piano and Marla Joy's beautifully sweet violyn compliment each othe perfectly. The modern voice of passion and music is truely an understatement for this group. I am sure Irving Berlin and Fred Astaire are smiling down from heaven as the music is playing. Thank you Liata !
