Not cheap, but this is an excellent product. I have a laCie external 1TB HD, so I bought this laCie eSata card. They both work perfectly; perfect match. eSata card makes my HD work to it's max speed.

SISMO PCI card for PowerMac G5 tower
Easy to install, no driver needed for Mac OS X 10.5.x. Fast data transfer. Well built, good quality. Using with a LaCie 2T Quad hard drive with eSATA connection. Only thing is I wish it's bootable in Mac OS X. Maybe it is... I haven't tried.

Can't think of anything I'd do differently, the card worked immediately, it has performed perfectly. Probably the best thing I can say is in just a few weeks I had forgotten it was even in the computer.
