Album Description
2009 sophomore release from the Florida-bred Country artist. Since releasing his debut album, Startin' With Me, in 2006, Jake has had three Top 15 singles on the Country charts, As was the case with his debut, he's written many of the songs for this project including the first single 'Don't Think I Can't Love You', which has already proven to be a chart success.

Customer Reviews

Great Recommendation from Amazon!5
As a customer who has previously purchased albums like Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts, I am so glad Jake Owen was recommended to me through Amazon.

As far as country music is concerned, he is a breath of fresh air and has this wonderfully deep voice that he is incredibly in control of -to the point of hitting softer notes to convey the depth of his emotions in his music.

Jake Owen's cd is filled with songs that are either love songs or songs of heartbreak. I'm usually more of a fan of "get-up-and dance" music, but this definitely hits the spot and Mr. Owen has some definite songs that are sure to hit the radio with positive feedback.

THE BEST COUNTRY ALBUM OF 20095
Jake Owen's sophomore release "Easy Does It" will astound you!!! Not only does Mr. Owen showcase exceptional songwriting skills, where he co-wrote eight of the ten tracks on this record, but his voice is enough to command your attention in each and every recording.

Jake shows great versatility among each and every song as well. The first single off his record, "Don't Think I Can't Love You" is a perfect love song, which has already been at Top 5 hit for Jake and is destined to reach #1 on the Country Charts! Another song with a similar message to his latest single is "Cherry on Top." Particularly impressive about "Easy Does It," is that there is a song on this record that you can listen in any mood you're in. Once again, we see "Eight Second Ride" which was from his debut album, however, this time there are a few changes in the song's lyrics. In "Anything for You," the narrator is expressing his unconditional love for his signifcant other and would do "anything for that person." "Green Bananas" is a mature song with neat imagery and a melody similar to several Kenny Chesney tunes. "Every Reason I Go Back" is yet another catchy tune with a chorus that any country fans who have lived in a small town can relate to: "it's every reason that I left, is every reason I go back."

When all is said and done, Jake Owen leaves the best song of the record for last: "Nothing Grows in Shadows," which is well-worth the price of the album alone. "Nothing Grows in Shadows" is a mature song which explores the consequences of bullying whether it is done by kids or from their parents in the bleachers; there is a twist in this song at the end, and then the speaker describes his own experiences which make the song more convincing than ever and leaves you in goosebumps. "Nothing Grows in Shadows" is truly outstanding and inspirational... it really tugs at your heartstrings and Jake's vocal on this recording is equal in excellence to the greatest vocal performances of Alan Jackson and George Strait respectively.

Overall, Jake Owen's "Easy Does It" is a must for any country music fan's collection. Each song is a keeper and destined to be huge hits for this year's ACM Top New Male Vocalist! I foresee a bright future for this country music artist.

Jake Owen is Refreshing5
I bought Jake Owens first CD and loved it, couldn't wait until this CD was released. "Easy Does It" is great! His southern drawl makes it his own. His style of country music is laid back and refreshing. Something new!
