Customer Reviews
Does NOT work.
Just like the other review. Safety 1st does not provide the correct combination of mounting bolts, for the mounting patterns. This device does NOT follow the VESA standard. It looks like it would be a good device if only they thought to actually make it work. To repeat: it DOES NOT follow the VESA standard. If it works for your TV you are one of the lucky ones. I can also tell you it will NOT work for a 2009 model Panasonic 42" plasma. Extremely dissapponting since they advertised it fits VESA devices. I would not purchase this item until Safety 1st corrects the design. (It wouldn't be hard. Just allow use of the larger bolts on the narrower pattern.)
Good idea, terrible execution
We didn't need a strong mount for our television. We have a 2-year-old whom we thought would get a little too curious, so we just wanted something to secure our new television to the wall from the stand. This looked perfect, the right item at the right price.
The product is very sturdy and has many options--you can mount it anywhere from 6 inches to 20 inches from the wall. It has drywall and stud mounts. It accommodates television VESA mounts of 200, 400, 600, or 800mm.
Well, almost. That was our problem. The kit comes with three sets of mounting bolts, 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm. Our 50" Panasonic G10 had 400mm mounting holes with 8mm bolts. But the mounting bracket that accommodated 400mm only accepted 4mm and 6mm bolts. It looks like only the 800mm mounting holes accepted 8mm bolts. What's the point in having the 8mm bolts if you're only allowed to use them on the 800mm setting? Wouldn't it have been extremely easy to have the 4mm and 6mm bolt-holes for 200, 400, and 600mm to accept the 8mm bolts, too?
Guess not. We'll return this and look for something else. It's a shame, because it looked like it was just what we wanted.
