Editorial Reviews

Album Description
CD reissue of this title from the innovative German Electronica outfit, one of the most influential instrumental outfits of the 20th century. Tangerine Dream has never produced anything calculated to make the masses jump off their chairs and start screaming Top 40 tunes, but they have managed to have an immense impact in the world of Electronic and soundtrack music. Their 107 (and counting) studio, live and soundtrack releases have their own driving hypnotic pieces that might differ from release to release, but they are all uniquely Tangerine Dream. Document. 2009.

Not much new to offer3
Tangerine Dream is in the process of releasing a HUGE amount of material this year and this represent one of the first of those releases. This is actually more of a Jerome Froese release than a TD release. When Jerome took leave of Tangerine Dream, he took with him the rights to some of the songs previously under the banner of E.Froese/J.Froese (we seemed to have a list of who was responsible for what song now). This release has some of those songs on it and while none of them are bad, one has to wonder why a Tangerine Dream fan will re-buy them. Yes, they are remastered, re-recorded, etc but there is nothing that stands out from the original.
5 songs from Dream Mixes 3 & 4
2 songs from the Great Wall of China
1 song from the Seven Letters From Tibet
2 from Jeanne D'Arc
While I happen to love Meng Tian and the Jeanne D'Arc tracks, I would have to say that the song selection for this release is not great. They certainly could have picked better Dream Mix tracks, especially since they all belong to Jerome.

This is by no means a bad release but chances are, if you are looking at this review, you have most, if not all, of the material already.
