Mastering Windows 2000 ServerMastering Windows 2000 Server by Brian M. Smith

Awesome book. I'm also using it (among many other books) for the 70-216 network infrastructure. It's meant for a NT admin coming to win2k but still a indepth and practical book.
Inside Windows 2000 ServerInside Windows 2000 Server by William Boswell
Buy new: $36.49 / Used from: $0.01
I love this book. The writer explains the topics in a witty style. It's not an intro book by far. It's main for focus is towards Active directory. It's a perfect compliment to Mastering Win2k.

Normally Microsoft books are of poor quality but this book is a diamond in the ruff for test material.
Mastering Windows 2000 RegistryMastering Windows 2000 Registry by Peter D. Hipson

You have to learn the registry to do your job. Better learn is sooner than later. And I don't care if it's boring, learn it.
Network+ Training GuideNetwork+ Training Guide by Mike Harwood
Buy new: $37.11 / Used from: $0.50
Read it now to understand networks and read it again when you take the Network+. If you're going for MCSE, might as well go for the Network+, you only take it once and you good for life.
MCSE: Windows 2000 Server Study Guide (2nd edition)MCSE: Windows 2000 Server Study Guide (2nd edition) by Lisa Donald
Buy new: $49.99 / Used from: $0.01
Poor study material. "A mere glance at Server" best descibes this book. Hopelessly shallow.

Don't read this book. Everything Mike Meyer's touches turns to lead. He insults your intelligents and empties you pocket book. Evil genius.
