	Dance, Fools, Dance (Forbidden Hollywood) [VHS] Buy used from: $7.48 Pre-code (1931)- before the production code came along, Joan gave a lingerie party in her yacht and did "that" with her boyfriend before marriage! Hot! Lots of chemestry with gangster Clark Gable too.
	Three on a Match (1932) [VHS] Buy used from: $3.88 Pre-code (1932) - Bette has a very small part, but lots of pre-code stuff go on. There are children smoking, gangsters, sex and bootleg booze.
	Possessed [VHS] Buy used from: $7.44 modern (1931) - factory girl Joan wants to have nice things in life, so she becomes rich politician Clark Gable's mistress. See why they called her a glamor girl and, boy, she was gorgeous!
	Ex-Lady [VHS] Buy used from: $12.99 modern (1933) - Bette is a young artist who doesn't believe in marriage. So she just goes about with boyfriend Gene Raymond - probably one of the first "open" relationships on the screen.
	Grand Hotel (Snap case) Buy used from: $3.00 fresh and free of neurosis (1932) - Joan did play some "common" characters, and that's the case of cool Flaemchen, a little stenographer who doesn't mind doing her boss some favours.
	Petrified Forest [VHS] Buy used from: $1.09 fresh and free of neurosis (1936) - Bette is young and sassy waitress Gabrielle - totally cool and non-affected.
	Rain Buy used from: $9.99 world's oldest profession (1932) - Joan is Sadie Thompson, hard-boiled wh*** trapped in south seas island with preacher Walter Huston, who wants to save her soul. Fascinating performance!
	Marked Woman (1937) [VHS] Buy used from: $1.56 world's oldest profession (1937) - Bette is "hostess" in illegal nightclub and gets into trouble with her mafia boss. Good guy Humphrey Bogart comes along to help.
	Mildred Pierce (Snap case) Buy used from: $7.13 second oldest profession (1945) - Joan is surrogate (and in my opinion, also unbalanced and obsessed) mother to spoiled brat Ann Blyth (Mommie Dearest, anyone?)
	Old Maid (1939) [VHS] Buy used from: $3.39 second oldest profession (1939) - Complicated story with Bette's daughter believing she's Miriam Hopkins' child and treating poor Bette as her old spinster aunt. GREAT flick, and what a tearjerker!
	The Women (Snap case) Buy used from: $5.45 rotten to the core (1939) - man-trap Crystal Allen (Joan) has a ball stealing Norma Shearer's husband - and the movie. What a b***!!
	Of Human Bondage Buy new: $7.98 / Used from: $2.93 rotten to the core (1933) - rotten waitress Mildred (Bette) ruins the life of unsuccessful artist/medical student Leslie Howard, who had the misfortune of falling in love with her. She's so cheap!!
	Woman's Face [VHS] Buy used from: $7.93 ugly duck (1941) - blackmailer Anna Holm is physically and emotionally scarred, until surgeon Melvyn Douglas takes care of both her scars. Beautiful Cukor film, and a tour-the-force by Joan.
	Now, Voyager (Snap case) Buy used from: $3.46 ugly duck (1942) - beautiful romantic story of ugly duck Bette turned into swan by Paul Henreid's love. A classic!
	Humoresque [VHS] Buy used from: $2.00 l'amour, l'amour (1946) - the ultimate tragic love story, and Joan's greatest performance as world-weary Helen Wright. John Garfield is the selfish violinst she falls for. Great Franz Waxman score.
	A Stolen Life (1946) [VHS] Buy used from: $24.35 l'amour, l'amour (1946) - another achingly romantic story, as twins Bette fall for the same man.
	Possessed (1947) [VHS] Buy used from: $2.67 nuts (1947) - lonely nurse Louise Howell is going completely nuts after lover Van Hefling discards her. Amazing, expressionist portrayal by Joan.
	The Letter [VHS] Buy used from: $2.20 nuts (1940) - One of Bette's best performances a the deceiving and desperate Leslie, who's also gone nuts after being discarded by her lover.
	Harriet Craig [VHS] Buy used from: $22.40 controlling bi* (1951) - Joan is letter-perfect as the neurotic, obsessed, neat-freak housewife who controls everybody's lives around her. A total b**, but you cant' help feeling sorry for her.
	The Little Foxes Buy used from: $10.89 controlling bi*** (1941) - Regina Giddens is a southern queen who dominates everyone around her. Not as humane and poignant as Harriet Craig, but you still feel sorry for her.
	Torch Song (1953) [VHS] Buy used from: $5.69 spoiled broadway brat (1952) - first technicolor Joan flick has her dancing and barking orders in the most garish colors. Lots of fun!
	All About Eve Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $3.49 spoiled broadway brat (1950) - no need for introductions, a total classic with great witty dialogue. Does anybody else think the score from this movie is very similar to Gone With the Wind's??
	Strait-Jacket Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $5.24 scream queen (1964) - ultra-B movie, with Joan going nuts and swinging an axe. Awful supporting cast, but still great fun with Joan pulling out all the stops. Over the top is an uderstatement.
	Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte [VHS] Buy used from: $3.00 scream queen (1964) - another ultra-B movie, heads rolling and everything. Too bad Joan wasn't in this one too, just dream of her slapping the s*** out of Bette!
