This Grammy Winning CD a long time coming in many ways has rocketed to the top of my list. Terrance Simien's live shows are truly a Zydeco Experience in every way. For authentic Bayou music with sounds and character as diverse as the people who create it. This is an awesome addition to any music aficionados' Zydeco Experience.

Authentic live Zydeco (Nouveau), stage banter and all. One of my first purchases and still one of the best ever. If this one doesn't get you moving Zydeco might not be your thing.

Terrance and his band do it all from blues to Jazz to classic traditional La La music. This CD can make you dance or make you cry, it is a great introduction to his music.

This Creole Lady knows how to kick up the Zydeco with her hard driving accordion style or her seductive soulful voice.

The second CD in my list by the late great Beau Jocque. Beau Jocque really opens up Zydeco Nouveau on this one with a big sound and some driving beats.

Li'l Brian really puts on a show and has taken Zydeco into a whole different funky direction. He can play old school and Z-Funk with equal dexterity.

Lisa Haley is an awesome musician and a great singer. She studied under some great masters and has put together an awesome band of all star musicians. She has some powerful songs and a great message

listen to the music, go to a live show, you might find you are a Beadhead too.

One of the great masters, not as powerful by todays standards, but Boozoo started it up. If you want to speak intellegently on the origins you have to know your Boozoo.

Another Classic. One of the men crowned as King of Zydeco does some great cover tunes and some originals still covered today.

One great Cajun accordion player, I learned to appreciate the subtleties of the instrument listening to this CD. Very bluesy and passionate Cajun music.

If you have seen the opening sequence to The Big Easy you will recognize Zydeco Gris Gris. Blues A Bebe is another great song on here. This CD crosses alot of styles and pulls some together.

One of the greatest Louisiana musicians not generally associated with Louisiana. Once you know Cajun and Zydeco you will hear what may have influenced his powerfull piano style.
