The grand-daddy (in sales, which is, after all, most important) of all compilation soundtracks, and horribly overplayed, but still with the classics "Grapevine" and "Joy To The World."

This one has various tracks from a number of different artists, all packed around brilliant original pieces from Mark Isham. It's not all compilation material, but the album is so good, I just want more folks to give it a listen.

Great, wide-ranging musical selections supporting Scorcese's brilliant story. The gems: "Angelina Zooma Zooma Medley," "Love is the Drug," and "Basin Street Blues."

Steven Spielberg started it all off with this soundtrack, full of classic 50s tunes.

The powerful musical support for Stone's brilliant and sadly misunderstood social commentary. Best of it all and summarizing the film, Leonard Cohen's "The Future."

Great, fun R&B/soul covers by the ultimate Irish bar band--the grrrrreat lovin-n-hatin mates!

Another Scorcese winner, this one featuring "Rags to Riches," "Sunshine of Your Love," and "Layla."

Another classic release, also too short, with fantastic renditions of "Money," "Shout," and "Louie, Louie."

A good 70s capsule, but not your definitive disco-boogie collection. Notable for "Spill The Wine." Conspicuously absent: Heatwave's "Boogie Nights."

An obscure little recording, much like the flash-in-the-pan film. Play ZZ Top's "She's Just Killing Me" really loud, and you just might touch Valhalla.

The producers hit the nail right square on the head with this one--this IS the sound of my high school years.

A great movie with an appropriate collection, but the soundtrack tends to lack some real punch--all the great disco/dance tunes had already been taken by other films.
