I just discovered Nick Drake. I usually hate folk music, but this is so much more. Man in a Shed sounds like he's smiling.

I love Dudley Moore's music. It's a pity that more of it isn't available on CD. Settle for this until it is.

This one's almost a cliche. My personal favorites are "Girl" and "I'm looking through You."

This has some of the best versions of Bacharach songs. "The Look of Love" by Dusty Springfield is incendiary. But this also has the fun of "Casino Royale" and "What's New Pussycat."

Warm and mellow vocals, true Brazilian music. Track 6 is my favorite, but not one is so bad that I skip it.

Acoustic Alchemy has had many permutations. This is my favorite of the Webb/Carmichael albums. "Road Dogs" just does it for me.

This has mostly their slow songs. Including my favorites "Breakaway" and "The Warmth of the Sun."

"Summer Sent You" is a great new relationship song. The whole album is terrific.

French trip-hop. Just gets under your skin.

Tough to find but worth it, especially for "From Vienna with Love."

One of the best trumpeters in Jazz at the height of his powers.

I saw this production with most of this cast (a different Bess). Shakesnider's "My Man's Gone Now" is wild and haunting.
