One of Ernie's best movies of the 2000s. An aging Hollywood star is brought to Italy to promote the video game version of one of his old movies and is assigned a bodyguard with a severe split personality disorder. Ernie gets to sing "Puttin' On The Ritz" and Claudio Bisio is excellent as the 'gorilla'. Italian with English subtitles.

Excellent documentary hosted and narrated by Ernie, detailing how the west was won for some and lost for most of the Native American people. Among the special features is Ernie receiving the 2006 Jules Verne Lifetime Achievement Award in Paris from Christopher Lee and "Wild Bunch" co-star Bo Hopkins.

When it comes to submarine pictures, nothing can top "Das Boot". But this 1958 wartime actioner is full of great special effects and performances from Ernie (wearing the same uniform he would wear for years on "McHale's Navy"), Glenn Ford and Dean Jones.

Rare Disney drama, based on the true story of the first 'seeing eye' dog and the events leading to a landmark court case with Ernest and Ralph Bellamy going toe to toe as opposing lawyers. Also with Timothy Bottoms, Eva Marie Saint and Patricia Neal, from the director of "Marty", Delbert Mann.

Not as raunchy as it sounds, this is a rare romantic lead for Ernie, in a part that would have been played by the likes of Yves Montand or Jean Gabin--beautiful European locations, fine performances.

The movie that ended the 1970s disaster movie era, from the man that started it, Irwin Allen and a great cast: Paul Newman, Jacqueline Bisset, William Holden, Red Buttons, Burgess Meredith, James Franciscus, Edward Albert, Valentina Cortese - legend has it that Paul Newman used his salary from this movie to start "Newman's Own", so it wasn't a total disaster after all.

Rollicking '50s western--more a 'buddy picture' than anything else--with Alan Ladd and beautiful Katy Jurado.

In 1956 Ernie made his first musical "The Best Things In Life Are Free" and didn't star in another until two "All Dogs" sequels in the late 90s: this is the best of them & he belts the songs out well!

Western rehash of Shakespeare's "Othello" with Ernest a jealous rancher, Rod Steiger his devious manager and Glenn Ford the cowpoke who gets caught in the middle.

Ernest stars with Matt and Trey from "South Park"--sadly they didn't write this 1998 movie. Also starring Robert Vaughn, Jenny McCarthy and Robert Stack--magnificently funny in one of his last roles, sending up his work on the tv series "Unsolved Mysteries". Ernie sings Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy" at one stage, so you've been warned.

With all the explosions, missiles, satellites and terrorists in this surreal sequel/remake, you know Ernest will ask "Hey, how's my old boat going?" -- and he does! Tom Arnold, Tim Curry, Bruce Campbell and Debra Messing also star.

Ernie also writes the foreword to this 1981 movie trivia book -- a summary of his career and how he started (a story on how to smile during a photo shoot will one day be a Hollywood classic!)

Ernie's final film for director Robert Aldrich has him playing Burt Reynolds' captain in this gritty 1975 tale of crime and retribution. Great cast (Catherine Deneuve, Eddie Albert, Ben Johnson, Eileen Brennan, Paul Winfield), solid performances.

The title says it all--the home movies of a great 70 year career, hosted by Sir John himself. Included are the two pictures he made with Ernie, "Chuka" and one based on a classic play, filmed in Sydney in the late '50s: "Summer of The Seventeenth Doll" with Anne Baxter and Angela Lansbury

The classic Joan Crawford western, also starring Sterling Hayden, Mercedes McCambridge and Ward Bond, has not been released on dvd in the US - if you have a multi-region player, try this Region 2 version in the meantime.

You don't see too many movies written by Mickey Rooney - this all-star western is the only one to date, with Ernie playing a wily sheriff.
