Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $10.98 Vincent Minnelli's 1st color musical is less song and dance and more plot-enhancing songs: a precursor for the famous MGM musicals to come. Warners does a great job w. these discs, beautiful color.

Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $2.95 Although this really is a Christmas film-as all the adaptations are, with the 1933 Kate Hepburn possibly the best-there is no Santa Claus or magic involved in this tale. Well, there's a certain magic.

Buy new: $5.79 / Used from: $8.99 The '37 is the best version of the Anthony Hope novel. Ronald Colman and Madeleine Carroll will melt even the toughest viewer. However, the final sword fight in the '52 Stewart Granger film is pretty great.

Buy new: $16.99 / Used from: $9.24 The first feature to be produced at Disney's own studio-Buena Vista. The beautiful restoration adds to the best part of this one-the set pieces! Add the great extras and this one is a must have!

Buy new: $38.99 / Used from: $74.82 'Pride & Prejudice': With other good versions, its the fun characters & gloss of this MGM one that seems perfect for the holidays. 'David Copperfield': Ditto on this Dickens adaptation. 'Tale of 2 Cities': Another grand Dickens adaptation. 'Treasure Island': Best of its kind. The last addition, 'Marie Antoinette', is just okay.

Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $14.42 Beautiful lush color and a touch of comedy enhances what, on the outside, appears to be just a common tale of revenge. The final swordfight is considered by many to be the best on celluloid.

Buy used from: $4.99 The best Zorro film. Tyrone Power has lots of fun hamming it up here. The final swordfight is mainly executed by the leads, both trained swordsmen in their own right.

Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $0.95 One of the best family films, with Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney both great. Everyone should see this one, enhanced by some of the most beautiful and lush technicolor.

Buy new: $5.79 / Used from: $3.50 I loved frontier shows when I was growing up(pre-Star Wars). TV ran "Bonanza", "Daniel Boone", "Little House on the Prairie", and, often, Disney's show would have one, too. Fav family film on list.

Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $8.99 Not one of my personal favorites, my aunt took me to this film once a year, where a certain local neighborhood theater would present it. Although weak scripting, the Alps and the songs are great.

Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $5.85 This is just a purely fun fantasy epic. Sure, it's a little dated, being Harryhausen's first color spectacle, but it's so beautiful to watch & loads of fun!
