(1955) Andy Griffith stars as Private Will Stockdale, and Don Knotts plays Corporal John C. Brown, in this military comedy. The two would work together again.

(1961-1962) Andy Griffith had been a successful stand-up comedian, and fully expected to be the main funny character on the show. When Don Knotts became such a popular favorite as Deputy Barney Fife, Andy decided to let him be the main comic figure, and let Sheriff Taylor react to him as his straight man.

(1975) Don Knotts plays Theodore Ogelvie and Tim Conway plays Amos Tucker, two bumbling outlaws known as the Apple Dumpling Gang, in this family friendly comedy.

(1976) Don Knotts and Darren McGavin play two bumbling safecrackers who somehow end up kidnapping two grandchildren of millionaire J. W. Osborne, played by David Niven.
