Buy new: $8.96 / Used from: $1.80 One of Jimmy Dale's best. He's got a voice almost as lonesome as Hank Williams. One of my favorites for "Santa Fe Thief" and "Another Colorado."

Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $5.85 This is where Joe Ely and Jimmy Dale Gilmore (along with Butch Hancock) got their start. It's full of lonesome songs and country laments. One of the few albums I own with a musical saw on it.

Buy used from: $33.49 A truly underrated and great artist, Gene Clark wrote many classic songs with the Byrds and solo. This two-disc set offers listeners a chance to hear many of them.

Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $41.44 There's certainly no other album like this around! It's an undervalued classic and one of Gene Clark's best! It's a fusion of rock, country, folk and gospel - Cosmic American Music.

Buy new: $21.99 / Used from: $7.10 A consistent and striking set of songs from Ryan Adams. He and his music aren't as popular as they should be. This is his best work yet.

Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $1.40 This is a great pop-rock masterpiece from Love. It's one of the few "cult" albums critics love that I love also. "Alone Again Or" is a classic.

Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $3.90 Doug Sahm is simply one of the most talented musicians ever. He played it all - rock, blues, country, even jazz - and you can get a taste of all of it here! It's a great introduction to a fine artist.

Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $0.70 Marshall wrote some great pop-rock songs and most of them are here. He's another great singer who should be popular, but, alas, he isn't.

Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $6.62 This contains some great back-to-basics rock music from Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe and was also a minor hit.

Buy used from: $5.55 Not as great as some might say, but it's good good early 70's rock. "That 70s Show" got their theme from a tune on the album called Out in the Streets.

Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $3.40 Popular with some, this is a great introduction to a fine band. Some of the early punk stuff grates on my nerves, but once the disc gets into the mid 80s, then it's rock with some great lyrics.

Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $2.51 Talk about an underrated artist! The man has one of the best voices ever in country music! "El Paso" is a classic, and this is a great introduction to the many styles he tried during his career.

 | Ivory Joe Hunter/Sings the Old and the New by Ivory Joe Hunter
Buy new: $14.97 / Used from: $6.27 This one has many songs found on the out of print greatest hits CD and is a good place to find his immortal hit "Since I Met You Baby," but it's got several clunkers too.
