Buy new: $16.47 / Used from: $14.74 My 2nd favorite mythology book as a child after the D'Aulaires' Greek Myths. In some ways, it's more fun as the Norse myths aren't as sparkly and clean as Greek myths. More coarse and dark, but still a terrific read as a child.

Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $2.25 The Chronicles of Prydain are also a fun read for elementary. Just enough cuteness and fantasy to make it fun. But some scarier parts to give it some emotional oomph to get the story rolling.
