This is a fun little 1959 Roger Corman horror flick (black-and-white) where an aspiring loser of an artist turns to murder, successfully using the corpses to enhance his vocation... until suspicions are aroused.

Tolerable Ed Wood, Jr.-Lugosi vehicle. A mad scientist fights to create a race of supermen. Released in 1956 and also starring Tor Johnson, (the big, fat, bald zombie in "Plan 9 from Outer Space").

This recommendation is for "Curse of the Demon," a pretty scary black-and-white horror film-noir. An anthropologist investigates a devil worshipper who commands a deadly demon. A really dandy and nasty monster here!

This recommendation is specifically for "Dr. Cyclops," a 1940 black-and-white film that I really love. A brilliant physicist in the Peruvian jungle discovers how to atomically shrink his enemies... and proceeds to do so! Great sets and locations. The special effects are excellent.

One of the very best Vincent Price films of all time, shot in Warnercolor. A scarred sculptor re-populates his ravaged wax museum with human corpses. 1953.

A super color film, well-done. Escaped Civil War POWs end up on an island populated by giant animals. 1961. You won't find many better than this one.

Extremely well-done, shot in Eastmancolor, 1963. A shower of meteorites produces a glow that blinds anyone that looks at it. As it was such a beautiful sight, most people were watching and 99% of the population go blind. The Triffids, experimental plants which can move around, go on the attack.

Shot in 1933 with Claude Rains and E.E. Clive. A superb old black-and-white horror flick which I have watched again and again. A scientist's experiments with invisibility turn him into a madman.

This fine black-and-white 1961 film has seen more showings on TV over the past few years. A mad scientist turns a reporter into a two-headed killer.

This one hasn't made it on to DVD yet (notice that this selection is VHS tape) but it's a great film, bulging with big stars including Edward Asner, Richart Basehart, Anne Francis, George Maharis, and Dana Andrews! A mad millionaire bribes a scientist to steal a deadly virus. Released in 1965.

Watch out for colorized versions of this film -- the pastel hues are pretty garish and awful. This is a tongue-in-cheek romp about a rich fiance (Carey Grant) with two ancient old maid aunts, living in a mansion, who covertly poison lonely old men to put them out of their "misery". Raymond Massey and Peter Lorre are awesome in this 1944 treasure.

This recommendation is for "Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman," black-and-white, 1943. Stars include Lionel Atwill, Dennis Hoey, Bela Lugosi, and Lon Chaney, Jr. Not as tongue-in-cheeck as you might think -- a great movie!

I love this 1961 black-and-white film (on VHS only so far)! A greedy baron unearths his father's corpse to retrieve a lottery ticket. The reward costs him: his face is frozen permanently into a hideous grin. A fiendish servant trys to lift the curse but the schemes fails. Sardonicus turns to a noted neurosurgeon, (his wife's former lover), to cure him.
