Muthu MaharajaMuthu Maharaja
Buy new: $14.95 / Used from: $5.79
My introduction into Bollywood started here with this movie. It was a huge hit in Japan around 2000-2001. Muthu has the greatest movie opening. I have a Japanese edition on VHS so I have a vague idea of the song's meaning. Its such a fun movie to watch.
Evil Dead IIEvil Dead II
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $2.75
My personal favorite Evil Dead movie. Most people love Army Of Darkness. I always like this one because I liked the first one and this one took that idea and turned it into a mad cap cartoon. My favorite chessy line is "Listen! It sounds like something is trying to enter our world." What the heck would that sound like?
Kung Pow - Enter The Fist (The Chosen Edition)Kung Pow - Enter The Fist (The Chosen Edition)
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $2.99
I loved every second of this movie. Yes its chessy humor but it just has a certain charm about it. I grew up watching Black Belt Theater on USA Network so it brings back memories of junior high.
Big Trouble in Little China (Special Edition)Big Trouble in Little China (Special Edition)
Buy used from: $5.17
I saw this at the $1 theater back in the 80's at Twin Bays. The theater is long since gone but I saw so many strange B movies there. This was one that won me over. How could you hate Jack Burton?
Tenacious D in The Pick of DestinyTenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
Buy new: $5.99 / Used from: $1.77
Film critics hated it but everyone who grew up with the onslaught of 80's metal should have a special shrine set up to this modern mircale. It has a musical battle against Satan that reminds me of the Steve Vai guitar duel from Crossroads. Except the fight in Tenacious D is much more fun.
Red Dawn (Collector's Edition)Red Dawn (Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $5.86
Back when the cold war was so much fun. Evil Russians take over the US and only good ole boys can stop them. The simple pleasure of driving a pickup, firing a shotgun, and kicking tail.
Road HouseRoad House
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $7.18
This movie convinced me to go to college and not end up as a bar bouncer. Still it has its magical moments of fighting and Jeff Healey playing guitar.
CrossroadsCrossroads
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $4.08
The ultimate guitar movie for every guitar player that wants to hit the road just to see what happens. A real 80's gem.
Frankenstein Meets the Space MonsterFrankenstein Meets the Space Monster
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $8.50
So much fun to see this one with hot microwave popcorn with tons of butter. This was a staple of the old Creature Feature show with the late great Horror Host Dr Paul Bearer. I just love the goofy concept of this. I've never seen anything quite like it.
Frankenstein Conquers the World / Frankenstein Vs. BaragonFrankenstein Conquers the World / Frankenstein Vs. Baragon
Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $14.44
Another favorite from the Creature Features days of fun filled youth. From the opening scene of Frnakenstein's monster's heart being flown into Japan to the big end battle with the giant octopus, it covers most every bad movie angle.
The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Collection - The Essentials (Manos, the Hands of Fate / Santa Claus Conquers the Martians)The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Collection - The Essentials (Manos, the Hands of Fate / Santa Claus Conquers the Martians)
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $12.19
Manos the Hands of Fate. Hontestly, I can only tolerate the Mystery Science verison. Its the best way to watch it through all in one sitting.
Robot JoxRobot Jox
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $5.41
Wonderfully made Giant Robot Figthing movie from the US. I saw it in high school when I was into Robotech, Gundam, and the old Shogun Warriors.
Troll/Troll 2Troll/Troll 2
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $4.99
Troll 2!! Haven't seen it yet but it fits in here. I have heard many horrible/wonderful things depending on your prespective.
LightblastLightblast
Buy used from: $4.87
A truly badly made Italian movie starring Erik Estrada in his best post-Chips performance. An evil genius creates a devices that causes a strange light to melt people's faces. Everyone should watch it at least once. Being drunk helps.
Conan the DestroyerConan the Destroyer
Buy new: $12.98 / Used from: $3.45
I love the Ice Castle at the end. And plus it has Grace Jones beating the crap outta people. Plus Arnie punching a camel in the face. What's not to like here?
AlligatorAlligator
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $7.38
An urban legend in the Tampa Bay area is how much fun it is to flush a baby alligator down the toilet until it grews to the size of a monster and takes on the city. No other movie shows that legend better than this.
The Karate Kid IIThe Karate Kid II
Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $4.65
Yes it is a rehash of the first one but I can never hate this movie after developing a junior high crush on the beautiful Tamlyn Tomita. Plus the killer app of Mr. Miyagi's nose pinch attack on John Kreese. My favorite line is the best cheesy line in all of Japanese/American romantic relationships when Tomita asks "Will American love me Daniel-san?"
The MasterThe Master
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $1.01
One of the worst TV shows in the 80's but I saw it at the age of 11 and maybe that was the right age to win me over. See Cleef as a 70-year-old-plus action fighting ninja. It is so bad that you can't help but be entertained.
Ninja in the Dragon's Den *Remastered Edition* DVD (NTSC)Ninja in the Dragon's Den *Remastered Edition* DVD (NTSC)
Buy used from: $11.98
I found this one on VHS inside a Vietnamese market. I have no idea of the plot except the basic concept which is who is better, a Ninja from Japan or a Chinese Kung Fu Master?
Enter the Eagles DVDEnter the Eagles DVD
Buy used from: $77.00
Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon attempts to show her fighting spirit in this unique action adventure. Only for the brave!! It took me awhile to get through this all the way without hitting stop or pause. Hiding the remote helps.
Rapid FireRapid Fire
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $0.59
I can't mention one of Bruce Lee's fighting kids without mentioning his son Brandon. It has a certain charm and is much better than Enter The Eagle.
Showdown in Little TokyoShowdown in Little Tokyo
Buy used from: $1.65
Tia Carrere Naked!! Well, almost. I have read that a model was used but it does create a cool illusion that you get to see more of Tia than Wayne's World was allowed to show.
PsychomaniaPsychomania
Buy used from: $4.50
"A movie that showed me that suicide can be fun and wholesome. Therefore a good thing. Plus it taught me how to wreck havoc inside a British supermarket as an undead biker gang member. The weird frog that was the source of power is a hard slimey thing to swallow. It just adds to the experience."
Creepshow 2 (Divimax Edition)Creepshow 2 (Divimax Edition)
Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $4.79
Anyone growing up in the 80's has to remember "The Raft" and the famous line at the end "I BEAT YOU!!!!!!!" This movie taught me how not to pick up hitchhikers.
Hard to KillHard to Kill
Buy new: $5.79 / Used from: $1.99
Hard to Endure! I really believe that Seagal can remember all his aikido moves after a 7-year coma. That is an amazing mental feat for any recovering patient.
ZeiramZeiram
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $9.69
An excellent Sci Fi/Action movie from Japan. The Japanese verison of Predator with a strong female lead.

The best cartoon from my 80's childhood. In an age of anime movies, this film is still my personal favorite over all other animated films.
Clash of the TitansClash of the Titans

For all those who grew up with Sunday evening at 7pm, Walt Disney Presents. A great adventure film that's fun. The Disney film made the story fun. I tried reading the book and it was just so drawn out and boring.

Actually its really just Zombie. When it comes to ripping off Romero, no one beats Lucio Fulci. Check out the eye popping and underwater shark vs zombie scenes.
Cannibal Holocaust - Limited 2 Disc Uncut EditionCannibal Holocaust - Limited 2 Disc Uncut Edition

So realistic that the director had to battle the Italian courts. I do have a soft spot for Italian Giallo/Horror.
DragonslayerDragonslayer
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $2.92
Prime Grade A 80's Fantasy. If you played AD & D, back in the day, this was your movie. Great to drink Gamer's Punch to.
The Beastmaster (Special Edition)The Beastmaster (Special Edition)

Fantastic Barbarian Action. 2nd only to Conan and miles ahead of Krull. I like the cool bat thing that would drop down and wrap around its victums.
History of the World Part IHistory of the World Part I

"Judas!!!" "What?" "Care for a beverage?" History has never looked better then when its directed and starring Mel Brooks.
