 | Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears
Buy new: $25.49 / Used from: $18.49 Great vintage movie - although made in the 70's half the story takes place in the late 50's. The movie is in two parts: the first shows the three girlfriends in their 20's and the second shows how their lives have changed in their 40's. One great quote from the movie: "At forty you feel as if your life is just starting". I really enjoyed this drama - as everyone says, the acting is great!!!

Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $21.97 Very arty film about WWII - such great direction and acting by the lead. Although the story was simple, this is totally worth watching. Makes me wonder why more Soviet "art" wasn't like this. Oh, and it's pretty easy to catch a lot of the Russian in this one!

 | The Irony of Fate, or "Enjoy Your Bath"
Buy used from: $36.96 Very sweet romantic comedy/drama - it is long so pace yourself (i.e. don't plan to watch it all in one sitting!). It is very worthwhile - only about 2-3 main characters (very stage-like) which makes it easier to understand the Russian. The added features, namely the interview with actors and director are worth watching on the second DVD. The music sticks in your head like glue!

Buy used from: $21.94 Awesome movie! I loved it! I highly recommend this one due to the excellent direction and moving performances by the leads. Don't miss it! Also, check out the interviews on the bonus track (DVD 1), but don't watch it till you finish the film.
