Rothrock's second movie and Hong Kong debut classified her a queen of action overseas: alongside Michelle Yeoh ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"), the film pioneered the role of the modern female action hero. One film later, Rothrock returned to a starring role alongside Yuen Biao as a police officer attempting to track down a vengeful killer (Biao). Rothrock continued to promote the standard of the tough, kung fu-savvy female as part of an ensemble that included Ellen Chan ("The Eternal Evil of Asia"), Sibelle Hu ("My Lucky Stars"), and Sandra Ng ("Portland Street Blues").

An ex-policewoman and martial artist (Rothrock) returns to her hometown to find it oppressed by organized crime. When the town sheriff is killed, she decides to run for his position and clean up the town. Co-stars Richard Norton ("Mr. Nice Guy") and Keith Cooke ("Mortal Kombat"). When a gang of robbers break up and the brains of the gang (Corey Haim, "The Lost Boys") successfully continues a crime spree, female thief Lily (Rothrock) decides to kidnap the boy and have him work for her. Directed by Spiro Razatos ("Class of 1999 II: The Substitute"). Co-stars Leo Rossi ("The Accused") and Ken Lerner ("Mafioso: The Father, the Son").

To combat a serial killer targeting martial arts masters, detective Linda Masterson (Rothrock) is teamed with specialist Tarek Richards (Jalal Merhi, "Talons of the Eagle"); together they must find a way to stop the killer - a master in the rare "tiger style" of kung fu (Bolo Yeung, "Bloodsport"). Inner-city high school teacher Kris Fairchild (Rothrock) must master the martial arts to thwart the lure of street gangs and their seductive plague of drugs. A daredevil cop (Stacy Keach, "Titus") is given a female partner (Rothrock) in an attempt to keep him out of dangerous situations. However, unbeknownst to anyone, this new partner is an ex-Navy SEAL whose talents will come in handy during an explosive hostage situation... Also stars Christopher Neame ("Street Knight"). Kris Fairchild must reunite with her partner (Richard Norton) to stand against the tide of street war between two gangsters... Also features Patrick Muldoon ("Starship Troopers"). Directed by Guy Norris ("Water Rats").

Rothrock's last Hong Kong feature came to be known as one of her worst: co-starring Don Niam ("Breaking Vegas") and John Miller, the Godfrey Ho-directed tale of a martial arts-practicing rapist/murderer gained notoriety for its excessive overacting and poorly-choreographed fight scenes. The final battle scene has gained a small amount of online fame as one of the cheesiest fights ever.

A female police officer (Rothrock) is kicked off of the force for her recklesness. Needing to make a living, she offers her services as a bodyguard to a wealthy playboy. The last theatrically-released film to feature our heroine: Rothrock plays a karate instructor in the tale of a mother's revenge directed by the late John Schlesinger ("Sunday Bloody Sunday"). Stars Sally Field ("Forrest Gump"), Ed Harris ("A Beautiful Mind"), and Kiefer Sutherland ("24").

Rothrock plays herself as part of an elite military team of assassins assembled to combat a rising terrorist threat, alongside Sam Jones and Donald Gibb ("Bloodsport"). Directed by David Worth.

A TV special of the cult TV show features Rothrock in a small role as "Bertha Joe" while the "Good Ol' Boys" return to try to save Hazzard Swamp and Uncle Jesse's farm from being destroyed by a crooked developer's plans to build a theme park.

When SWAT officer John Collins (Don 'The Dragon' Wilson, "Bloodfist" series) reckless behavior results in the death of fellow officer Erin Murphy (Rothrock), he's kicked off of the force and decides to make his living by serving an underworld mob boss (Chris Penn, "The Boys Club").

Rothrock's last film in four years: she enters a virtual reality game alongside Don Wilson and Lorenzo Lamas ("Falcon Crest") to save the former's son, whose mind is trapped inside. Directed by Art Camacho ("Half Past Dead 2"). Features a cast of legitimate martial arts personalities, including Christine Rodriguez, Chris Casamassa, and Michael Matsuda.
