The first official album, full of dark and elaborate orchestrations and arrangements, here we find Reginald fronting a studio orchestra introducing us to his eclectic original voice and style.

country-tinged and soulful, "Tumbleweed" is a back-woods-country album with a hint of gospel... a complete departure from the self-titled debut featuring much more intimate musical arrangements and acoustic guitar based songs.

The first album featuring his touring band, "Chateau" is a complete departure from the first 4 albums and minus the lavish arrangements... The tracks are full of funky rhythms and more humorous lyrics, here is where Elton began turing more to pop music than to his singer/songwriter beginnings.

His most diverse, successful (and most critically acclaimed) album, "Road" is a quassi-concept album of tracks that flow together as if it were a movie.. Lyrically and musically painting pictures of cowboys, dirty little girls, movie stars, whistful days of old, and saying it's alright to fight!

One of the biggest selling albums of all time, "Hits" is a compilation album of his hit singles from the self titled album "Elton John" up thru "Caribou".

a 2-disc live album (released to fill a quota) spanning two performances. 1st disc - a command performance by the Queen of England performing in a small hall performing his more early album tracks, and the 2nd disc - the now infamous Madison Square Garden performance containing more hits and an impromptu appearance by John Lennon!

a classical-tinged album, "Moves" is a very unique album (and one of elton's favorites) that didn't do well commercially, but artistically is a great double-album full of interesting, mellow tracks

Produced and arranged by Philidelphia producer Thom Bell, "Sessions" was an experiment where elton did help write 2 of the 6 tracks, but is only contributing his vocals to each track, recorded in 1977, but not released until the 90's.

a failed foray into disco, "Love" is a collection of forgettable tracks that don't quite go anywhere.

One of my favorites, "ZERO" is the album that put Elton's dropping popularity back into focus and is an essential stepping point containing 4 hit tracks all in their 80's glory.

Recorded live with a 60-piece orchestra, "Live" is an album full of gems from Eltons early days that hadn't been performed in nearly 2 decades.

Struggling personal problems aside, this album is Elton and Bernies tribute to the R&B music they loved in the 50's and 60's containing soul-filled, motown-esque tunes set to Eltons catchy melodies.

With a renewed sense of 'self', Elton enters the 90's with an album full of slightly over-produced pop songs that contain the pivitol radio staples, but tends to lack focus throughout.

"England" is a well-produced album full of very diverse and interesting tracks. The album starts off great, then towards the end tends to lack a bit, but overall a great album as a whole.

One of his most 'polished' releases, "Picture" is a very keyboard/synth-heavy album, not having any actual 'piano' throughout.. Every track, though well written lyrically and musically, has a very somber and 'adult contemporary' feel to them.

Another of my favorites, This is an excellent album. Considered "Eltons return to his roots", "Songs" brings Elton back to what he does best.. playing piano and writing quirky diverse melodies. This is his first album since his early days that every song stands on it's own. ESSENTIAL!

Self-produced, "Peachtree" is a comparison to his 'tumbleweed' days bringing back that country-tinged/gospel-esque sound. This time around, the tracks aren't upbeat at all but very mellow overall.

Yet another greatest hits compilation!!! ;o)
