I really enjoyed this sci-fi/horror film for what it was and didn't think it was bad at all. I really enjoyed the creepy special effects and imagery and I was very intrigued and interested in the storyline. I also really liked the performances of the actors. At least rent the film. RATING: 9
Dragonball: EvolutionDragonball: Evolution
Buy new: $18.49 / Used from: $3.12
This is definitely one of my all-time favorite B-movies. It was so stupid, so ludicrous, and yet so damn funny and filled with awesome action scenes. I love it! I love it! I love it! Pure B-movie joy that's hard not to watch. RATING: 9
The SpiritThe Spirit
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $1.85
This is no Sin City, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy this rather bizarre comic book flick. It was so delightfully campy, stylish, and just plain awesome. It sure beats the hell out of watching Ghost Rider or Fantastic Four. RATING: 8.5
Ultraviolet (Unrated, Extended Cut)Ultraviolet (Unrated, Extended Cut)
Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $1.00
Sexy Milla Jovovich killing stuff, need I say more? This film did terrible, yet I really liked it for its comic book-style presentation and over-the-top action. Pure popcorn fun. RATING: 8.5
The HappeningThe Happening
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $0.92
I enjoyed this film thoroughly because it felt inventive and new compared to most other horror films in this day and age. Unfortunately, a good number of people despised this film, but that won't stop me from loving it. RATING: 8.5
GodzillaGodzilla
Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $0.78
People despised this remake, but I really liked it because I like monster films and I like lots of destruction. This film satisfied me and I still enjoy watching this fun monster flick. RATING: 8.5
Mortal Kombat/Mortal Kombat 2: AnnihilationMortal Kombat/Mortal Kombat 2: Annihilation
Buy new: $18.99 / Used from: $12.54
Neither of these films did very well in terms of critical response, yet I loved them both equally. Say what you will about Annihilation, but I loved every bit of its stupidity. Needless to say, these are some of the best B-movies ever made. RATING: 8.25
Automaton TransfusionAutomaton Transfusion
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $1.97
This zombie flick did so bad, yet I loved it so much. It was totally gory and completely cheesy, but that's what makes it so entertaining and why it never gets boring to watch. RATING: 8.25
Fear Dot ComFear Dot Com
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $0.01
It did so bad, yet I loved it so much. This was a fascinating horror film filled with disturbing and creepy imagery that never leaves your memory. Sure it did terrible, but it will always have a special place in my heart. RATING: 8
All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (Clam) [VHS]All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (Clam) [VHS]
Buy used from: $0.01
This sequel didn't do so well, but I really enjoyed it. Sure it will never compete with its nearly flawless predecessor, but that certainly doesn't mean it's a bad film. It sure beats the hell out watching The Secret of Nimh 2: Timmy To The Rescue, that's for sure. RATING: 8
Superhero Movie (Extended Edition)Superhero Movie (Extended Edition)
Buy new: $12.49 / Used from: $1.50
This is a parody film I actually liked, and thank God it wasn't made by the same people behind Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, or Disaster Movie. This film actually puts in effort by having a plot and genuine laughs. RATING: 8
Eragon (Widescreen Edition)Eragon (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $0.67
Some have said this was the worst fantasy epic ever made, but I didn't think it was bad. I thought it was actually entertaining, and damn sure was a helluva lot better than the God-awful Twilight films. RATING: 8
Day of the DeadDay of the Dead
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $2.48
Many people hated this remake, but I actually liked it even though it ripped off the Dawn of the Dead remake, Resident Evil, and 28 Days Later. Sure Nick Cannon sucks and the fact the zombies can crawl on walls was stupid, but it provides plenty of good gory fun. RATING: 8
AVP - Alien Vs. Predator (Widescreen Edition)AVP - Alien Vs. Predator (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $14.49 / Used from: $0.73
I like this film, I hate its sequel. Sure it was dumb, but it was sure fun to watch the alien and predator duke it out on the screen. There was plenty of monster mayhem to go around in this film. RATING: 8
Doom (Full Screen)Doom (Full Screen)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $0.01
A rip-off of Resident Evil and Aliens, but this is still an entertaining blast of gore, monster mayhem, and so bad it's good moments. The one thing that prevented me from giving this film an eight, however, was the terrible Jean Claude Van Damme-style fight scene at the end of the film. RATING: 7.5
The Cave (Widescreen Edition)The Cave (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $0.01
While it's never going to beat The Descent, The Cave is still an entertaining monster flick despite the poor script and acting. Not to mention the striking set pieces in the film are a great wow to look at. If you give it a chance, it serves as a good late-night horror film. RATING: 7
DelgoDelgo
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $5.51
Though highly flawed because of the lack of originality, Delgo still provides a decent fantasy adventure with cool action moments and pretty CGI animation. Too bad the story and lack of originality dragged it down. RATING: 7
House of the Dead 2: Dead AimHouse of the Dead 2: Dead Aim
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $1.45
A blatant rip-off of Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the Dawn of the Dead remake, House of the Dead 2 still provides decent zombie shoot 'em up entertainment and good gore. Though there are much better options, it's still worth a look. RATING: 7
House of the DeadHouse of the Dead
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $0.19
So bad, so stupid in the extreme... and yet I liked it. It features awesome over-the-top zombie shootouts, campy dialogue and acting, and plenty of laughter from its stupidity. I'm not ashamed to admit I liked this film. RATING: 6.5
Battlefield EarthBattlefield Earth
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $1.95
This film is a complete disaster a sci-fi film promoting Scientology, but damn it sure is fun to watch in B-movie terms. This is one of those films you have to watch with friends just to make fun of it because it's so damn bad it's hilarious (Especially witnessing the jaw-dropping awfulness of John Travolta's performance). RATING: 6.25
