"My boy's wicked smaaht." The best movie ever? If not, then certainly about a brilliant blue-collar kid from Boston who actually figures it all out. Don't miss Matt Damon's speech to the NSA about why he doesn't want to work for them.

"Are you not amused?" Yeah you are. You were glued to the movie. You hate Joaquin Phoenix and struggle to ever appreciate him in another movie (until he plays Cash 5 years later). You cried at the end. Fine, but I did.

"This is a shifter car?"...."I drive luxury cars" Apparently the disturbed Vincent Gallo is as big a penis as he possesses, but this movie is poetic. Best indy love film ever?

Realism upon realism. The musical score (Explosions in the Sky) is ridiculous. "You boys gonna win state this year?"

"I was able to salvage this wood from old Nantucket seaman's chapel." This is the best comedy in history. Period.

"Don't ever call me again." Vince Vaughan gave us a great preview of coming attractions with this 90's classic. Along the way we get to witness the cultures of sega hockey, goofball friends, the search for good times on a budge, and neurotic best pals.

To those who believe the media has too much power in American society today, I give you The Insider. A gripping story of a 60-Minutes producer who partners with a frightened former tobacco exec long before the days of "The Truth .com" Pacino goes off. One of Russell Crowe's finest along with Romperstomper, Gladiator, and a Beautiful Mind.

"Miss Peaches was the best, well not the best, but..." Any filmmaker who has the sack to use DJ Shadow's Endtroducing as his musical score before asking permission is cool in my book (of course Shadow agreed; he rules). But if you really want to freak out, watch the making of this film after you've finished the feature. You'll melt.

Giovanni Ribisi, Ben Affleck, and Vin Diesel together. "They should put you all on an island" - "Oh yeah well guess what? You're on it." This film will make you respect Triple X. It's a modern-day classic. Watch and learn."

"If you won't see me again, I'm going to tell the police. See you around, then." Irvine Welsh, one of the great pop writers of our time (and a helluvan activitist I'm told as well) puts this one on the screen proper with some of the finest drama-comedy ever. Renton, Spud, Sick Boy, and Begbie will give you tons to remember or forget. It's been a Top 10 choice of mine it came out.

"Oh you think I'm funny? Do I amuse you?" Finally a film from what's arguably my favorite genre, Goodfellas is not to be toyed with. Ray Liotta must have really been into the Columbian pow to make this film so real.

I'm hammering this list out all in one sitting, and not even 1/2 way through my collection. But I could quit after putting this one up. "What ya'all um, Dominican or something?" - "Boriqua." The only thing Ray Allen does better than acting is draining treys in Seattle. My favorite Spike Lee joint.

See the best film about turntablism ever. And if you're a hip-hop DJ and you're a baller but you're not in this? Bye bye.

Ho-lee. If you're not on your toes, this movie will drop you on your tailbone (since I can't say "sas" on Amazon). Get ready to become a staunch advocate against capital punishment. And Kevin Spacey reminds you why he's an OG. I don't even remember any quotes. Just take your pee break before you hit play and get ready for 90 minutes of amazingness.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Take a weekend off from your decadent lifestyle, rent or buy this, Born into Brothels, Dark Days, and Blood Diamond, and realize that you're like the other 98% of us that aren't doing crap to make a difference.

Thought I already told you. Ed Norton. And just when you thought Richard Gere would ruin it all for you, he actually doesn't. One of his 2 good movies along with "Unfaithful."

A Kiwi pal turned me onto this a couple years ago, before the US counterpart version was assembled. I won't debate which is better, but will only say that the British David Brent should be called butter, because he gets on a roll (role? aha) better than anyone in mockumentary comedy. "Oh, that's deragatory.'

I'm guilt-ridden I've waited until the bottom of my list to add this, but maybe that's because..."I'm Ron Burgundy?" One of the best characters ever and only Will Ferrel's Chaz is even in the same ballpark. Character acting at its finest in the comic genre. Watch it over and over again - there's new things to laugh at every time.

My gosh is this film brilliant. One of the many (New Jack City, Fast Times, State of Grace, Mystic River) that makes a case for Sean Penn as the best actor of our generation. Michelle Pfeiffer is spectacular as well. This movie could change you.
