Really interesting, full of exercises to do that loosen you up. No way is this a paint by numbers book.

Interesting, and some beautiful iamges with great use of colour especially, but this isn't a general guide to abstracts or to colour but just a look at the very specific style of one artist. Each of the paintings are very similar and in all but two of them, the subject matter is easily recognisable. The title should say semi-abstract. Acrylic paint is used rather than oil too.

Highly recommended, but beyond my price range at present.

I just bought this book and will review it soon.

Worth a look, although most of the focus isn't on abstracts.
