Marlon Brando as Antony. I haven't seen this yet, but by many accounts this is superior to the Charlton Heston versions.

Sounds good -- the History Channel puts out some quality stuff.

A must for the Latin classroom. Provides essential visuals and drama, and it has Kirk Douglas at his prime.

This edition has both versions of Ben-Hur -- the classic everyone remembers, and the original, pre-film code version as well. Heston munches scenery at times.

Just a glance at the plot tells you that this is not appropriate for all ages. I plan to show this with a giant "Censored" sign on hand.

A must if you are studying Pompeii. Solid cast, top-notch special effects. A mix of different types of characters that you begin to care about, and spectacular visuals of the eruption itself. You'll tear up at the end unless your heart is made of ash.

The overblown classic with the cast of thousands. Best for showing clips rather than the entire film.

Looks interesting, but only for the more advanced students.

I like the Asterix comic books, but I haven't heard anything about the movies. Wish they weren't so hard to get in this country!

Oh, Asterix. Why can't you be popular in the USA like you are in Europe?

Not as bad as Caligula, but still too iffy for showing in any class.

A classic, but I haven't seen it yet.

A&E is good, but can be dry.

Excellent series, but the nudity, violence, and language make this good only for the isolated clip. Great Caesar death scene!
