A masterpiece. The greatest monster film ever made. Dark, powerful, terrifying, beautiful and haunting. The nightmare of the nuclear age is given flesh.

Honda's second greatest work,Matango is disturbing, funny, and grim as hell. A nightmare of isolation and paranoia, human beings at their worst.
Frankenstein Conquers the World / Frankenstein Vs. BaragonFrankenstein Conquers the World / Frankenstein Vs. Baragon
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $11.97
A criminally underrated monster movie. As bizarre as it sounds. This film is a lot of fun and actually is deeply disturbing.
The MysteriansThe Mysterians
Buy new: $19.95 / Used from: $6.95
Though following a similar structural formula to "Godzilla", "The Mysterians" stands apart by introducing sexually predatorial aliens who are refugees from a nuclear holocaust. Interesting stuff.

The H-Man [VHS]The H-Man [VHS]

Great science fiction/gangster crossover. Portrays the police as being as bad as the mob, while radioactive liquid creatures ooze through the sewers.
The Human VaporThe Human Vapor
Buy used from: $5.50
I don't know about this version, but if you can get your hands on the original as DVD I'd recommend it.
Terror of MechagodzillaTerror of Mechagodzilla
Buy used from: $0.95
Made at a time of lighter fluffier kaiju films (The 70s), "Terror" is a surprisingly dark later entry in the Godzilla Showa series. It almost goes back to Gojira's roots...ALMOST. There's alot of camp, but it is undeniably entertaining, and again, pretty damn dark.
Mothra (1961) [VHS]Mothra (1961) [VHS]
Buy used from: $5.25
Again, go for the Japanese version on DVD. This is a classic.
Destroy All MonstersDestroy All Monsters
Buy new: $14.49 / Used from: $9.01
Although I haven't seen the Japanese version of this one (Almost always there is a huge difference between versions, even if only due to bad dubbing), I can still tell, even through the bad dubbing, that this is a good flick. There's monsters galore and a solid plotline.
