The Mask of Fu Manchu (1932)is probably the most sadistic and maniacally delectable film from Hollywood's pre-code era. Notice its obvious influence on the Indiana Jones series, especially the ending which is barrowed for Raiders when the lightning bolts from the Ark zap through the Nazi soldiers.

White Zombie (1932)is Lugosi's most vivid character portrayal post Dracula and still registers high on the creep'o'meter. Watch it alone in the middle of the night when you're feeling particularly vulnerable.

Sign of the Cross (1932). The gladiator fights in the Coliseum feature pygmy warriors shish-ka- bobbed by savage jungle women, naked Christian girls devoured by lions and a decapitation. But Claudette Colbert bathing in donkey milk is alone worth the price of admission.

Red Dust (1932). Clark Gable, Mary Astor and Jean Harlow splashing around in a rain water barrel. Another one that, criminally, has yet to be released.
