This is perhaps my favorite new musical. I know why it deserved the Best Musical Tony. It really is a great yet tragic story and the songs by Duncan Sheik are wonderful. I have had the pleasure of seeing it on Broadway and meeting the cast. It's a shame that the best songs have the worst language. Case in point, "Totally F***ed"

Okay, this did not deserve to close when it did. This IS the original Romeo and Juliet. And I dare any of you girls to not fall in love with Adam Pascal in "Elaborate Lives." I mean, he was sexy enough in Rent, but this just makes me go all mushy. His voice...go on, I dare you...

I love the movie soundtrack as well, but I would probably have not bothered if it weren't for this. My mom was brave enough to play this in the car when I was a little one, but I didn't get serious about it until I was 15, a little less than a year before the movie came out. Sting has perhaps saved me from being a Broadway-only dork for life with the Police song "Every Breath You Take." His unmistakable raspy voice always soothed me. It didn't hurt that he looked gorgeous as well. This is the only album of his where I love every song on it.

I think I like this one better than her first. I'm not afraid to admit that she is a favorite for me. Plus there's an amazing music video for "You Belong With Me" now. Listen to her self titled debut too.

I bought this at the merch booth at Rent when (joy of joys!) he came back for the tour. Of course his voice is beautiful; I fall into a trance-like state whenever I hear it. But Larry Edoff's piano was the missing link. The two of them together make a lovely piece of work. I cannot stop listening to "See Me Shining," although it's a constant reminder to me that he's married. Damn it...

This is only here because Seventh Heaven isn't there to put up, but even though I know almost no Japanese, they have better voices than most Japanese singers I've heard. Blame their arrival to Anime Boston for this. Fave songs: "Oblivious," "Sprinter," and the absolutely beautiful "Kimi Ga Hikari Ni Kaeteiku."

Every song, even the ones in other languages are worth a listen. I give thanks to my roommate for really exposing me to him. I especially love "Oceano", "Si Volvieras A Mi", "Per Te", "My Confession", "Remember When It Rained", and of course, "You Raise Me Up."

The beauty and presence of Mariah Carey but the sensibility of Celine Dion. I dare anyone to not be moved by "Bleeding Love." Now her new song "Better in Time" is doing quite well too, so don't expect her to go anywhere soon.
