The absolute best of the many renditions of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", with Alistair Sim as the perfect Scrooge. The cast is top-notch with Michael Hordern as Jacob Marley. Scrooge is a difficult character to play and not come off as either a caricature or as a monster, when he was neither.

Cary Grant is perfect as the angel come to Earth to provide guidance to the Bishop, David Niven. The story is beautifully done, with Cary Grant at his best as the angel who finds a way to help a bishop find his heart, and touches everyone around him in the meantime.

Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby, and Danny Kaye in a wonderful Christmas film with excellent music, dance sequences, and Irving Berlin's hit, "White Christmas."

The Denholm Elliot filmization of the poem by Dylan Thomas' broken up and submitted in pieces for family consumption, "A Child's Christmas in Wales" is actually quite charming.

Not exactly a Christmas Story, but set at Christmas in 1183 AD with Peter O'Toole, Katherine Hepburn, and Anthony Hopkins it tells the tale of Henry II, who has to decide who will inherit his throne after his death.

When the Lemon Drop Kid accidentally steers Moose Moran's girl away from a winning bet, he is forced to come up with $10,000 to repay the angry gangster. Fortunately it's Christmas, a time when people can be persuaded to part with money for the right cause.

I don't particularly like this story, but it's a Christmas favorite by most people so I include it. The thing that bothers me about the film is how weak everyone else is, except George Bailey.
