Look inside this book. Each letter's sign is shown, but the illustration also has items that begin with the letter. The hand signing B is surrounded by bubbles, the hand signing C has a cup dangling on the thumb. Children love learning their sign language ABCs...and this book is beautiful.

Fantastic! Each double-page spread has a beautiful work of art on one side, and the letter with an "I spy" on the other. So for Ll, you see "I spy with my little eye something beginning with an Ll" and on the opposite page is Sargent's "Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose."

Lovely artwork...each letter refers to a type of insect preparing for Miss Spider's surprise birthday party. The illustrations are on thick, glossy paper and the colors seem to glow.

Before the book "Cookies" there was this charming book. Each page has a watercolor illustration of a capital letter and a feeling. For instance "P Puzzled...Puzzled is how you feel when you don't know the answer to a problem." Great for young kids who are just learning their alphabet AND how to talk about their feelings.

Steve Martin's ABC book. I've heard it's funny, but haven't seen it myself.

A great book for toddlers learning their ABCs...like Market Street, but simpler. Great rhymes, bright colors, and kids are really happy about being able to name what the letters are for.

Beautiful illustrations and basic rainforest science. Probably best for kids who already know their ABCs, but are just starting to learn about different environments.

Lois Ehlert's art always appeals to young kids. It's nice to see an alphabet book that helps kids learn about healthy food, too...not just animals or random items.

What a shame there isn't a picture of this one! Anyone familiar with Nedobeck's art will love this book. Each page has a bright capital letter with an illustrated scene like: Little Leonard Lion climbs a Ladder to mail a Love Letter to Lori.

A new release...two children embark on a dangerous treasure hunt through the alphabet. The story is told through 26 alphabetical lines. Not really a device for kids to learn ABCs for the first time, but piracy and monsters will be motivating for a certain ABC-learning audience!

Alison Jay's artwork is so lovely, it's always enjoyable to sit down and read her books with a child. Hopefully they'll reissue this one!
