One of Scorsese's most wonderful movies, with William Dafoe in what I consider to be the greatest performance of his carrer
Cabaret (Special Edition)Cabaret (Special Edition)

I'm not much of a musical buff, but I just love cabaret. Beautiful music, great acting - especially by Joel Grey - and a great movie all around.
Fox and His FriendsFox and His Friends
Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $4.99
Fassbinder is my favorite European director, and Fox and his friends is one of his best. A tragic story of a simple man's destruction by his manipultaive lover, whose only interested in money and power. Great acting by fassbinder himself in the title role
Danton [ NON-USA FORMAT, PAL, Reg.0 Import - Great Britain ]Danton [ NON-USA FORMAT, PAL, Reg.0 Import - Great Britain ]

The director is Polish, and the main star is french - and Depardieu is my favorite non american actor. The story of the french revolution. Thought provoking, briliantly acted, sweeping and moving. A great movie
Braveheart (Special Collector's Edition)Braveheart (Special Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $4.27
Need I say more? before becoming an anti semitic bastard, Gibson produced one of the greatest all time epics.
DownfallDownfall
Buy new: $12.49 / Used from: $4.29
Briliant movie about the last days of the third Reich. One of the only movies I know to depict Nazis who actually speak German, not English with an accent (preferably British). Bruno Ganz's portraial of Hitler is amazing. He sets the standard for any future actors who may want to portray the dictator.
Ed Wood (Special Edition)Ed Wood (Special Edition)
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $8.47
Tim Berton's best movie, in my opinion, is a loving and tender depiction of Ed Wood, widely considered to be the World's Worst Diector. Johnny Depp gives the performance of his life as Wood, but it's Martin Landau who steals the show as Bela Logosy.
The Night of the HunterThe Night of the Hunter
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $9.98
Charles Laughton directed only this movie. Its faliure made him renounce directing forever. But the movie is a classic, and one of the best Noirs ever. Robert Mitchum is truly creepy as the murderous reverand, and the movie enjoys some of the most unique shots I've ever seen in any movie.
Viridiana - Criterion CollectionViridiana - Criterion Collection
Buy new: $27.49 / Used from: $16.94
Bunuel's seering critique of religion, modern morality, and the bourgoisie. Contains on the director's most famous shots, a reconstruction of Da Vincy's the Last Supper. A superb movie.
The Vanishing - Criterion CollectionThe Vanishing - Criterion Collection
Buy new: $22.99 / Used from: $11.69
One of the scariest and most thrilling movies I've ever seen comes from the Netherlands. Great script, keeping you at the edge of your seat, great acting and an ending to chill your blood. Worthy of Master Hitchkock himself
Amadeus - Director's Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition)Amadeus - Director's Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition)

This is Forman's best movie, in my opinion. A great script, wonderful reconstruction of the world of 18th century and great acting by all.
