![]() | Pilgrimage by Michael Brecker
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $2.80 Pat Metheny from a different perspective:key sideman on Michael Brecker's final recording and he is a monster in solos, unison themes, and comping. Bolstered by John Patitucci and Jack DeJohnette, Herbie Hancock or Brad Mehldau, and Michael himself, Metheny is the unsung hero playing like a dervish or extra-sensitive accompanist.

![]() | Song and Dance by Bobby Broom
Buy new: $16.99 / Used from: $9.84 Master guitarist Bobby Broom has cranked up a winner of a guitar trio recording. "Wichita Lineman" gets a wonderful latin treatment that totally works, making me wonder why no one ever thought of this approach before. Great performance by Sonny Rollins' 'go to' guitarist.

![]() | Grant Green Alive! by Grant Green
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $7.25 From his funk and groove period, this live set by Grant Green has amazing drive, soul, and power. The best of the best is "Let The Music Take Your Mind" with some great guitar, sax, and some superlative, hot drumming. Also "Time To Remember": great mellow song. I just re-bought both from Amazon's MP3 store as single tracks: pricey but worth it to re-visit these songs.

Wonderful music on a Great CD from a charter member of 'Clube da Esquina' (Club on the Corner).

![]() | The Bridge by Sonny Rollins
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $6.95 JIM HALL!! When Sonny Rollins came off his Williamsburg Bridge hiatus, he went straight to Jim Hall who helped make one of jazz' great recordings. Ditto for Bill Evans, when he wanted to record a duo on "Undercurrent". Pick any performance and Hall is superb, but "Without a Song" is spellbinding with Rollins and so is "Dream Gypsy" with Evans.

![]() | Magic Touch by Stanley Jordan
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $1.78 'Tap master' Stanley Jordan plays the guitar much like the keyboard of a piano producing an idiomatic sound. "The Lady In My Life" is a powerful performance that is beautiful and soulful but bears no resemblance to the Michael Jackson approach.
|

"Around The Bend" is a special performance that demands to be heard. Emily Remler-forever in our hearts & thoughts.
