One of the most nihilistic industrial/electronic albums ever concluding with a totally nihilistic deconstruction of a Simon and Garfunkel classic. A soundtrack to the crucifiction of a certain popular figure some millenia ago.

Perfect recollection of the days of absinthe and tuberculosis and an inspiration to Edgar Allen Poe and Baudelaire. Must read.

When Dead Can Dance were a post punk band and just starting on the emerging goth scene. Reccomended for fans of course but far more dark and disturbing (and less pretentious) than their later works.

Unfortunately this work in dark ambient has been ignored by some people as "wallpaper music" but if it is its more like the "Yellow Wallpaper" in a house slowing descending into insanity. Worth it.

"It doesn't really matter if we all die...". Need I say more?

Similar to Echo and the Bunnymen but still unique post punk angst ridden nightmare that you choose not to wake up from (complete with a live concert).

This "product" as John Lydon referred to is worth owning as a spit in the face to the group that invented that concept (and everything that came before it).

Melancholy poetic slice of life portrait that wasn't released until years later.

As Lydia Lunch said in one of her (as yet unreleased on dvd) films "Shut up and suffer!". And I do mean now.

And a modern update...

A descriptive and allegorical depiction of the realms of hell and the condemned.

"Industrial Music for Industrial People" as it says on the original album. Not sure what an "industrial person" is but its worth seeing if you qualify. Spliced segments of humanity reassembled and repackaged again and again.

Some of the songs such as "Acid Head", "I'm a Living Sickness" and "Painted Air" have a proto goth sound that is clearly seperate from the usual fare from the "summer of love" but above the typical garage rock fare. Indescribable compilation of completely unknown bands.

An early painting on the expressionist scene that lived his whole life in depression (and ultimately ended it). A Freudian self loathing take on humanity, warfare and sexuality.

A good case study analysis of some of the more popular stories by a children's writer who was actually writing of his depression and inability to relate to humanity. For a more mature work (and the end of his life) that shows that he could very well have been a poet (as was his original career intentions) read "Aunty Toothache". And yes Oscar Wilde was reading him as well (and inspired).

A speed ridden overdrive into nihilism and feedback.

Almost reads like a diary, found post suicide. Goth industrial band sadly overlooked.

Somewhat dated but pionering in its use of the Moog and somewhat darker trappings at trying to convert Lucifer (probably not possible).

And a word for those to whom suicide is no laughing matter. And an understanding why the taking of human life at all costs strips all of us of our humanity.
