i rediscovered the wire in 07, and fell in admiration and love with it. the last season took a minute to grow on me, but it ended up really sticking with me. even without the barksdales and much of jimmy mcnulty. the kids are vibrant new characters that i cared about, and what a rebirth for prezbo!. but still, rip d'angelo and stringer bell.

i tried this show on demand last year and didnt really like it. i figured i was just preoccupied. now i know i actually dont like it. its hard to want to watch a show when you dont like any of the characters--i found myself thinking of which character i disliked the most, and thats a bad sign.

i think i understand more now than i ever have.

kyle chandler and connie britton as coach and mrs taylor are so good in this. the acting between the two of them is amazing, both when they argue and when they support each other. also an interesting class and race analysis. this show might be canceled, so if you get the chance, check it out and thank me later. one of my new favorites.

i binged on this in one weekend. i was super psyched to watch season 3 after season 2. at times i was a bit disappointed with the will they or wont they jim and pam thing, but all in all top notch. michael and jan's relationship developments were highlights to me this season.

vera's a "diamond." this one is too. really well done.

intensity in ten cities. seriously. watch this one.

different not necessarily good.

another good doc i watched this year. it's flippin amazing that this governor did this-a blanket commutation of over 150 people who were sitting on IL's death row in 2003. there's an exceptionally moving part near the end with the group murder victim's for reconciliation. and gov ryan's quote: "it's time to offer something other than revenge to victim's families."

a lot about storytelling and the art of making a documentary. interestingly similar to king of kong in that the makers of both films didnt seem to know exactly what they were getting themselves into. recommended.

now this was hilarious. so nice i watched it twice!

blades of glory made me revisit some movies i missed the first go round that i thought i'd try in an enhanced state. didnt like it. just not that funny.

if you've seen the preview, youve seen the whole thing. dont bother.

the first season was so good. the second season was meh. this is a little bit better of a meh. oh and the straw slurping, its their new signature move thing? im not sure if i think its brilliant or stupid.

this started a little slow for me, but by the end of the season i thought it was genius. really amazing social commentary. and i think this may not be back! another brilliant but canceled entry i guess.
