Buy new: $12.21 / Used from: $9.47 Although I personally am a beer and straight shots of hard alcohol kind of guy, I recognize the need for a book like this, and endorse it fully.

![]() | The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 1) by Rick Riordan
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $3.10 The first book in the best series outside of Mr. Potter. Written in the first person, Riordan writes as if telling you the story from a chair right across from you, and is legitimately funny, adventurous, and attention-grabbing. One of those books I was not happy to put down when my train reached its destination.
Any book that has me wishing my train was late? Done.

![]() | Fuzzy Memories by Jack Handey
Buy used from: $3.76 The famous Jack Handy author of SNLs Deep Thoughts is back with more hopefully untrue insights into his childhood. As opposed to one or two liners a la Deep Thoughts, handy tells us short, several-paragraph stories that, if it is possible to say, are even funnier than its deep-thinking predecessors.
