French actress Michèle Morgan is dubbed splendidly by the ever-reliable Martha Mears in this highly enjoyable musical.

Susan Hayward gives one of her most masterful performances ever and the real Jane Froman, whom she portrays so brilliantly, provides the vocals.

In this musical tribute to Rodgers and Hart, we have many great singing stars doing some of their finest work on screen. And we also have non-singers who sound just as good : Tom Drake as Rodgers is dubbed by the prolific Bill Lee, Cyd Charisse receives the Eileen Wilson treatment in her duet with the equally dubbed blonde dancer Dee Turnell. And yes, the Blackburn Twins are dubbed too.

Once more, Virginia Mayo's vocals are dubbed by Bonnie Lou Williams in this star-studded WB musical.

Vera-Ellen as The Belle of New York (52) sings beautifully to the prerecorded voice of Anita Ellis. Keenan Wynn's solo in Royal Wedding is also dubbed.

In CALIFORNIA (46), Barbara Stanywyck's impressive vocal turns are the work of Kay St.Germaine

Natalie Wood introduces the nominated song "The Sweetheart Tree" with the vocal skills of Jackie Ward.

Lucy's dramatic turn as a nightclub chanteuse is greatly helped by Martha Mears's smooth singing voice.

When brassy saloon singer Iris Adrian tells Bob Hope to "Meet Me Round the Corner", she is mouthing to the voice of Annette Warren, who later sang for Ava Gardner in Show Boat.

We all know Jolson sang for Larry Parks, but everyone else is also dubbed-over in this film.

What little Cyd Charisse has to sing in her "Baby, You Knock Me Out" dance number is dubbed by her regular voice double at the time, Carol Richards, who can also be heard to great advantage on the out-take musical number "Love Is a Racket". Michael Kidd is also given an excellent voice-over.

When May Wynn, as a club singer, performs her one song, she does so with the smooth alto of Jo Ann Greer.

Watch out for two dubbed heroines in this upcoming collection: Linda Darnell in HANGOVER SQUARE (45) and Merle Oberon in THE LODGER (44)

In the Princess and the Pirate, Virginia Mayo's singing was dubbed for the first time and it's Louanne Hogan (who sang for Jeanne Crain in several Fox musicals) doing a remarkable job of it. In They Got Me Covered, the unmemorable song chirped by blonde Marion Martin is dubbed by the ever-prolific Martha Mears.
