My favorite of Elin Hilderbrand's books! I bought this book to read on the beach in Nantucket (since the book is set in Nantucket) and ended up really enjoying Elin Hilderbrand's writing...I have now read most of her books and plan to read them all!

Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $0.99 3/5 Stars. I loved the beginning of the book & fell in love with Alice's character. As the book progressed, I found myself less attached to the characters and I did not care for the ending (from the time she becomes First Lady to the end). For me, knowing the book is loosely based on the life of Laura Bush enhanced my enjoyment of the book.
