Six Feet Under - The Complete Fifth SeasonSix Feet Under - The Complete Fifth Season
Buy new: $22.99 / Used from: $15.96
In Season Five, we Six Feet Under viewers foresaw an ending in sight. The death of a terrific show about death. Thought it had its ups and downs during its run, Six Feet Under proved in the end to possess a true heart. The final three episodes are the hardest I've ever cried in my life thus far. It was like my family had died. And it proves that a television show can transcend fiction and reality.
WitWit

Emma Thompson gives a heartbreaking performance as Vivian Bearing, a witty professor who is struck with a painful and devastating form of cancer. Though the film's subject matter is rough, overall, the film is a bittersweet and at times funny look at a life and what becomes of it. Then comes the moment of tearjerking. Bearing in the end realizes that she needs the love she missed out in her life.
Lars and the Real GirlLars and the Real Girl
Buy new: $12.49 / Used from: $2.98
Lars is a quirky, sad man. A man who one day falls in love with, of all things, a blow up doll. While the film could have taken a much more dirty and crude detour, in the end, it proves to be moving and achingly human. Something about this film, with each viewing reduces me to sobs. But still, it's a beautiful film and will stand the test of time and the burden of my love.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2-Disc Collector's Edition)Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2-Disc Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $24.99 / Used from: $7.09
You may know by now that Eternal Sunshine is one of my favorite films, and I stand by that statement. Not only is it a wonderful and original story, but it goes from quirky, to silly, to beautiful to tragic in a matter of minutes. A scene in which Joel, the protagonist's first memory with his lover, Clementine rolls around, break out the tissues and try not to break down.
Up [Theatrical Release]Up [Theatrical Release]
Though still in theaters by the time this list will first be published, Up proved to be one of the most emotionally complex and engaging films of the year. Each frame evokes the same emotion that of a live action film. The first ten minutes alone are sob inducing, and the end is also moving. In the end, the journeys we take in life may not be spectacular, but ones we will treasure.
Juno (Two-Disc Special Edition with Digital Copy)Juno (Two-Disc Special Edition with Digital Copy)
Buy new: $26.49 / Used from: $4.23
Say what you will about Juno, but it is a very moving film that always gets me. It is a quirky comedy with a large heart and an even larger amount of talent. Everything from the cast to the script is near perfect, it's astounding and requires many repeats.
Beauty and the Beast (Special Platinum Edition)Beauty and the Beast (Special Platinum Edition)
Buy used from: $14.99
This tale as old as time evokes powerful emotions with each viewing. I grew up watching it and it has become all the more special in my adult years. Its meaning has strengthened for me as time has gone by, and I enjoy returning to a familiar and magical place.
Futurama, Vol. 4Futurama, Vol. 4

Season 4, Episode 7: Jurassic Bark. Here, a simple cartoon television show transcends the regular norm many shows fall into. In it, Fry finds the fossilized remains of his dog Seymour from 1999 and decides to bring him back. The result is absolutely soul crushing. It's perfect and just plain sweet. Any dog owner can relate.
