Buy new: Too low to display / Used from: $59.97 This mic works great, it's a bit large, but the sound quality is awesome. It's specifically made to plug into your computer, because it's USB, so it works great for webcam chats, and recording straight to your computer.

Buy new: $29.00 This is the shock mount for the microphone. It's not an absolute necessity, but I found it works better than the stand that the mic comes with.

Buy new: Too low to display One of the must haves for playing an instrument that isn't on most people's shopping list. I actually just use an online metronome, and tuning software, but I would love to have one like this so I don't have to practise at my computer everyday.

Buy new: $13.95 You might be able to find a cheaper one at your local music store where you rented your cello to begin with, (as with many of the music related items on this list) but I got this one from Amazon and really like it. Great for me, because the only time I can practise is when my two young kids are taking their naps.
