Forget the sequels. They are just fries and a drink. The real meat is in the original.

A Masterpiece. Casting outstanding. Acting outstanding, dialogue outstanding.

The humor in this movie is so cool. Billy Crystal and John Goodman are outstanding in this movie. The quality of the video is phenomenal. Movies don't have to be heavy to have a powerful message. And just because a movie has a powerful message doesn't mean it can't be fun. :)

Okay, it's getting a bit dated, but still, when you consider when this was done, visually it's fantastic. Overall, a great movie, now a classic more than ever.

What can be said that hasn't already been said about this movie? How about this. If you watch this movie and study it, I'll bet you will have moments, where you experience something like what happens to some of the characters in this movie. "You saw it, didn't you?!"

They are all great. But the original is still the original. And the message is great: "Don't enter the alien ship until AFTER you decode the distress signal." Oh yea, and "Don't stick your face over an unknown life form's egg."

Watershed movie for a lot of reasons. I think it's the only sequel better than the original. "You just can't go around killing people." "Why not?"

Modern remake, I love it. Again, casting is AAAA. Sequel is pretty good too.

The whole story is so over the top, it's completely believable. Saul Rubinek is fantasic. Who else? Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman (who plays a black guy, how's that for a stretch?), Brad Pitt, Christopher Walken, Samuel Jackson. The scenes with Patricia Arquette and James Gandolfini are worth the price alone. What's the message? Live like Elvis and you'll live like a king.
