It feature an extremely well made anti-hero with the person of Malus Darkblade. The author makes no compromise on the nature and on the display of the Dark elves culture and personalities.

This is what make the greatness of this character. The book succeed very well to tell the story of this dream.

Not only it offer a deep character study of Malekith, the book present also a remarkable story subtle and deep in the character's interplay. The whole course of actions of this saga that encompassed Malekith and the Elves nation at large is weaved masterfully by the author.

It is interesting to read about the legacy of the Von Carstein House. The author succeed to deliver a pretty good story about the history of this famous vampire house.

The description are uneven in quality but are rather good overall. The realms of Chaos are grim, but it could be more sinister and horrific. The main character is too cliché sometimes.

It depict the Hung, the Kurgan and the Tong with lots of humanity. This have its merits and flaws. It create a sens of familiarity, but the Chaos side loose a great deal of his strangeness and horror. The ending is grandiose.

The book doesn't dig enough in the dwarf history, culture and psychology, because it repeats the same narrative pattern too much from one section to another I think.
