Stunning. A masterpiece of animation and science fiction that presents a post-apocalyptic landscape with charm and humor. Accessible on nearly every level, and yet loaded with heady concepts. 2001 meets Chaplin.

It's not what you think. Really, it isn't. The subject matter is heavy, yes, but the approach is fresh and the pacing is quick. It pulls you in and the performances are 100% gold.

This is a fantastic underdog story perfectly suited to our current cultural climate. Cinematography, editing, and music blend into a slick product that's finally gotten Boyle the attention he deserves. However, i'm just sayin', as much as it champions the human spirit...i'm not so sure about that Oscar win. Really.

You'll notice the absence of the Reader. It's not an accident.

A little bland, but the story is a good one and the acting is superb.

Don't give me all that smack talk about this film. It's all nonsense. This is a throwback piece to a golden age of cinema...and it's actually really dead accurate. Suspend your disbelief and roll with the overacting and extended run time. They don't make romantic epics like this anymore. As we learned with Australia, apparently it's because the general public doesn't have the patience for them.
