![]() | Deep Purple - Concerto for Group and Orchestra (In Concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra)
Buy new: $11.47 / Used from: $4.25 1969 - Live but dated, many long, boring and drawn out performances. Nice to see how young the classic Mark II line up is, but really not essential. Get the Deep Purple DVD In Concert with the London Symphony Orchestra with Steve Morse instead

![]() | Deep Purple - Special Edition EP
Buy used from: $3.46 In 70's BBC - Short but kinda sweet. Only 3 songs, Highway Star, No No No, and Hallelujah. Only worth it if you have some spare change.

![]() | Deep Purple Live in Concert 72/73
Buy new: $11.47 / Used from: $6.88 1972 & 1973 - The 1972 Danish b&w concert with awesome footage, perhaps the best available from this era of the band. The 1973 color footage is cool, and the band is great but the edited performance and lame audience are a downer. Essential purchase.

![]() | Live in California 74
Buy new: $11.47 / Used from: $2.74 1974 - I love Stormbringer, I love Burn, but this is IMO an unnecessary purchase. Great sound, but horrible camera work (most Richie solo's are shown with his back turned), and Glenn Hughes is just irritating. Too bad it's the only offical Mark III DVD release out there.
|
![]() | Deep Purple - New, Live and Rare
Buy used from: $12.05 A hodge-podge of 80's reunion live tracks to late 90's era Morse live cuts. Alot of the latter day tracks are already released on some of the DVD releases below (i.e. Montreux). There are some cool JLT era videos and studio shenanigans.
|
![]() | Deep Purple - New, Live & Rare Vol. 2
Like the above release, this is again another hodge - podge of DP live cuts from the Steve Morse era. There is a live track or 2 from the 80's reunion, and a cool JLT era rehearsal bit.
|
![]() | Deep Purple - Come Hell Or High Water
Buy new: $15.49 / Used from: $6.17 1993 - Finally an almost full show from the Mark II line up 20 years later on. A great show, but wished we could get a prime era Mark II live DVD release. Maybe one day but until then this will do.
|
![]() | Bombay Calling
Buy new: $35.99 / Used from: $2.69 1995 - Worth owning because of 2 things. This is one of the early shows feat. newby Steve Morse, and the band sound amazingly fresh with Steve on guitar. Awesome concert but seek out the 2004 reissue with a bonus DVD of a live show in Seoul Korea 1995.
|
![]() | Deep Purple - Live at Montreux 1996
Buy new: $11.47 / Used from: $5.17 1996 - A fantastic live show from 1996 with 5 more bonus tracks from a 2000 Montreux show. The Montreuz series are always a great bargain and worthy of buying. Don't let this one pass you by.
|
![]() | Live Encounters
Buy new: $46.99 / Used from: $12.47 Another 1996 Purpendicular show from Poland. Good but not great, but go with Bombay or Montreux instead of this. Worth owning for the diehard.
|
![]() | Total Abandon
1999 - Perhaps the best live DVD of Deep Purple ever released. The band is firing on all cylinders for this show, and Steve Morse is just fantastic on the guitar. Worth owning, but seek out the original DVD release with Steve Morse on the cover, and tons and tons of special features.
|
![]() | Deep Purple: In Concert with the London Symphony Orchestra
Buy new: $8.97 / Used from: $6.10 2000 - A great DVD release worth owning very classy, and with lots of treats like Ronnie James Dio singing to Butterfly Ball tracks and helping Gillan out of Smoke. A true classic in every sense of the word.
|
![]() | Deep Purple - Perihelion
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $6.37 2001 - Live in Florida. A great show but not worth owning if you own Total Abandon DVD. Still some great songs not heard in a long time like Fools and Mary Long, but get Montreux 1996 and Total Abandon before this.
|
![]() | Deep Purple - They All Came Down To Montreux: Live At Montreux 2006 (2DVD)
Buy new: $13.97 / Used from: $8.41 2006 - A 2fer release, one show from Montreux, and the other from London that same year. I'm sorry but the London show only an hour long, and complete just levels the Montreux show. A must own, and yes they band are still amazing at this age and with Don Airey on keys.
