My all time favorite Horror film. The suspense is nearly suffocating and the scares are plenty. The special effects beat out anything made today and this movie is over 25 years old!

The most famous slasher flick of them all. Michael Myers is the ultimate villain and this movie should be in every horror fans collection.

OK, I really wanted to list Phantasm II as well but there is no American DVD release. The original is a great horror film, but II is the one I want in my top 10. Due to some legal wrangling it has not yet been released but if you get a chance, watch both I and II, you will love these gems.

I struggle with labeling this as horror considering how it is not a scare fest. It is however a tense mystery which deals with a dark and unsettling subject that all leads to the perfect climax.

Now this is some scary ****. As a kid, as an adult, there is so much that is wrong with this film, and I mean that in a good way.

An innocent looking boy could be the seed of Satan? Great acting pulls this one off. Not just great horror but a great movie period.

One of Hitchcock's best and a faovrite among my family. There are some really chilling scenes in here and the best part, there is no soundtrack at all. Hitchcock felt music would only get in the way so all we ever hear in the background are the caws of a bird and wings flapping.

I just love tales about evil houses/hotels and isolation. Jack Nicholson's incredible talent matched with Kubrick's legendary ability doesn't hurt either. Oh and it's based on a Stephen King novel.

I love this movie and Micahel Ironside is one awesome bad guy. If you have not seen this, you have to.

Awesome modern Zombie flicks. I prefer the sequel over the original but both are fantastic and this two pack is a must own for Zombie fans.

Possessed Trucks running people over? I remember being at a Drive In as a kid where this was showing next to Aliens. We had paid to watch Aliens (an excellent action movie) but I couldn't take my eyes off of Maximum Overdrive even though I had no sound to it. Not particularly scary for adults, but a great film.

Romero's follow up to Night of the Living Dead is an excellent Zombie flick. The remake is worth a look too, great movies.

This one always terrified me. Scary and sad. If you have not seen it then you have been missing out.

forget the Nic Cage remake, this is one messed up film.

Cult Classic, worth it. There are a lot of cult Horror classics that are well worth your time, a few I have listed here.

The first Nightmare on Elm Street is a scary scary movie. The others go more in the direction of gore but this series is a classic.

Watch late at night, this disturbing classic will follow you into your dreams.

Another John Carpenter great, and probably his last truly great film.

Remember Scream? Now watch this movie. April Fools Day beat scream to the Horror satire theme a decade in advance. Of course, Scream gets all the credit for being the clever one.
