My Favourite KISS Studio Albums

DestroyerDestroyer by Kiss

THE classic KISS album. KISS were at a creative peak on this album and producer Bob Ezrin pushed them beyond their comfort zone. Detroit Rock City is an all-time classic. Other standout tracks include Do You Love Me, Flaming Youth, King of the Nighttime World, God Of Thunder. There are a couple of mis-fires but that is what makes KISS great - so many hits and some occassional endearing misses.
Hotter Than HellHotter Than Hell by Kiss

Such a cool album and under-rated. Most of these songs were ignored on early live albums and best of's, but Unplugged changed that. Very basic production, but the great melodies and riffs shine through. Every song is a winner for me, the title track is my favourite, with a special mention for All The Way just because it is virtually forgotten.
Creatures of the NightCreatures of the Night by Kiss

An uncompromising hard rock album that has aged well. While Vinnie Vincent's personality and dress sense could be questioned, his songwriting really works on this album. Eric Carr's drumming is at its best. Standout tracks are the title track, I Love It Loud, I Still Love You, and the rarely mentioned Danger and Keep Me Comin'.

A real return to form for KISS, especially for Gene. This is stripped back rock with bite. Favourite tracks - GGRnR2UII, Every Time I Look At You, Spit, Thou Shalt Not.

Where it all started. So many classic tracks on this album.

A lot of people don't like this album but I love it and I'm proud of it. It is jam packed with catchy, over-produced 80s melodies. Best moments for me are Shandi, Is That You, Tomorrow, and many more.
