Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $11.22 This is probably the most famous and well-known of its genre and an obvious addition to any comprehensive list. I do love this series and always will.
Nevertheless, I infinitely prefer this 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice to the more recent 2005 adaptation. The latter was certainly not horrible, but I find Jennifer Ehle much more agreeable as Elizabeth Bennett than Keira Knightley! :-)

Buy new: $12.49 / Used from: $3.90 I enjoy both Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet in this version. However, as much as I like Alan Rickman as an actor I prefer the more recent adaptation's casting of the male leads, especially Colonel Brandon. :-)

I love Toby Stephens, he has mesmerized me ever since I saw him in a Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Hamlet. Ruth Wilson was excellent as the Jane, the 'little elf' (or which a he calls her in this version). They have great chemistry. Highly recommended!
