From Hitchcock's early British days. My 3rd fave Hitch movie, next to THE BIRDS and STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, edging out PSYCHO. Stars Michael Redgrave, dad of Vanessa and Lynn. And Margaret Lockwood(one of the few 1930's actresses I find attractive).

Another Stanley Kubrick film. Victim of one of the Oscars' biggest shocks and injustices. OLIVER for Best Picture in 1968. REALLY ????? 2001 not even nominated despite topping many critics' lists.

One of the best films of 1999.

Neither lead role was well or believably cast. Famous film about adultery directed by director icon David Lean(Lawrence of Arabia, Dr Zhivago, Bridge On The River Kwai, Ryan's Daughter, etc etc.)

Long before 'Phantom', Michael Crawford was very funny in this TV Britcom. The sameness of the episodes eventually became wearisome, but it was still a good series.

Rudyard Kipling tale also stars Michael Caine.

Sneaks onto my list of BEST DARN SPORTS MOVIES,PERIOD. Even though it's about girls' soccer (teehee).

The only Jane Austen period piece to crack my list.

I was disappointed by this 1970 filming of one of my favorite novels(D.H.Laurence) but found it an interesting attempt at least.

Kate Hepburn won one of her Oscars in the only tie ever for Best Actress(along with Barbra Streisand for 'Funny Girl').

Rather enjoyable British production. Poitier stars as a teacher in a tough London high school. Hit song theme by Lulu.
